I played against Muncy, and he was a good QB..but he had alot of targets. Stacy was good too. But, all around I think Stewart is better than both. He runs as well as he throws and first and foremost he is a better leader than the other 2 IMO.

so not true mega. Mike Culbertson was a very good QB but had the misfortune of playing in the very down years of the 80's when our line went about 180 average if we were lucky. Mike did play with one of the best WR's we have ever had, that would be Bo Thompson. the guy could catch anything near him.
And you have Jeff Miller who also was stuck in the 80's down years but went to Carson Newman as a QB if I'm not mistaken.
The Caruso guy that a lot claim to be the best QB we have ever had. I'm too young to really know for sure but there is a lot of people think so.
I think Stewart is one of the best we have had and because of the teams he has played on may get labled "the best" but we have had several really good QB's come through the school. </div></div>
I should clarify, I thought Tommy Muncie was a good quarterback too but to go back 20 years is saying quite a bit. David Stacy is like a brother to me but guys like him were mediocre at best. Stewart always finds a way to impress me and the thing that impresses me about him the most is that hes a good person.

...And if you ain't down with that, I got 2 words for ya....
I agree.
Do you remember Jon Bright? He was a white boy Ricky Proehl type that would always move the chains. He ended up being an all state DB as a result of having the most interceptions in school history at the time.
Gravely was the main target but Muncy would rely on him so much that he would stare him down and throw it to him even when he had 3/4 people on him.
In that Region final against Appy, The 3-0 game, Bright made a circus catch, I believe it was a one hander and got them down to about the 20 yard line with about a minute and change to go. Muncy tried to force it in to Gravely on the next play and that was all she wrote. That game will never be forgotten. Appy kicking a field goal and all. Tom 2pt Turner beating us on a field goal. Now thats heartbreaking.
Yeah..that was my junior year of HS. JIB was IMO a better team that year than in 1990 when they made it to the finals. I can remember alot of the guys from those teams(Bevins, Muncy, Bright, Hairston)...but their main forces were Gravely and Daniels. Another player (whose name I can't remember) that was a good player was #11...but he was a lil off kilter it seemed to me. I can remember that he and a former PV player were arguing over the same girl during the offseason..and eventually he allegedly stabbed her in the a$$ with a steak knife..lol.

Was #11 Steve Messer, I think it was.

[censored] man I forgot about the whole forfiet. I remember Jamie getting the hell beat of him that game. Seemed like everyone was out to get him lol. As for the qb it couldn't have been him, he had that floater going for him. A whatever happened to Coach Hale?

Stacy's father probably ranks in the top 2-3 QBs in RC school history. I reckon he was a pretty dang good. He lead RC to a win over PV in 72 with a TD pass late at Bullitt Park.

As far as I know he moved back toward Ft. Chiswell to be with his family and he may be in administration. Did you know they are trying to get Buster to come back for the 10 year reunion in a couple of weeks.

If Buster comes back for a reunion, it will be like Jesus returning to Jerusalem. Id pay money just to hear that dude talk again. He was the best football recruiter a school could have ever had. He was the only teacher that I ever knew that you could turn in your math homework for health class and still get credit for the health assignment.
Are they actually going to have a 10 year reunion this year UT? I was wondering about that because Im pretty sure come next year that its going to be pretty darn difficult getting our class together. We might have to ask the warden for a weekend leave for most of the people in our class.
Steve Messer is still a crazy mofo. Hes the type of dude that really could crack one day and go Cho Seung on some people. Hes definetely not all there.
Johnny Stacy was a beast. You wouldnt even think that he played quarterback. Theres been a lot of guys play against him in basketball and not came back to play against him again. He would hurt your ass and take pride hurting you. Im really suprised he wasnt a guard or center in high school. He's fallen on hard times over the years but his kids turned out really good. His oldest son was my best friend growing up and he graduated from Tech and is an engineer in the New River area. David is still working towards is degree and works up at the jewlery store in the walmart shopping center.
